idee

While thinking about how to animate the different people, especially in the head of the Industrial Palace, my tutor Tom Simmons mentioned an animated film based on the astonishing graphics by Frans Masereel, the Flemish painter and one of the greatest woodcut artists of the twentieth century. The film is called L’Idée (The idea) by Bartosch Berthold, 1932.

I think the transfer of the woodcut-like persons to a woodcut-like animated film is definitely an interesting way for me to animate the thinking and working people within the human factory.
