One of my favourite and inspiring comic artist creating today is definitely Peter Kuper.
In his wordless graphic novel ‘The System’ Kuper creates a complicated story of many lives and how they interact with each other, all told in pictures with hardly any words. Containing different aspects like racism, violence, love, sex, organised crime, corruptions, injustice and of course the endless search for freedom from all this, Kuper creates a complex and multifaceted cycle of life, destruction and hope. In addition to that his stencil-like style is just brilliant.
I came across this book again, because I think the cover-image of his graphic novel ‘The System‘ could be an interesting visual for my current idea for the final MA project – a cycle of growth and destruction showing the different aspects of social and political life.
